Ready for the holidays? Family, friends, beach, pool, terraces, walks or maybe some trip. Are you ready to enjoy your vacation to the fullest? We spent a lot of time planning our holidays, looking forward to relax, disconnect from work, visiting family and friends and once you’re there, do you get the most of the situation, do you enjoy it as you would like it? We miss family and especially those who live far away from home but it often happens that when we visit them at some point arises some discussion. I hear many times people saying how exciting are they to go back home and visit the family but after the holidays they say that they had some discussions. We arrive loaded with illusion, the first days we enjoy the time as something new but then the differences begin to appear.
This holidays I propose you an exercise of understanding, to not allow yourself to make judgement about others. Judging leads to arguments. When you notice yourself judging someone, take a Deep breath, think about it and change that thought for understanding. For example If it bothers you the way your mother does something just try to think that maybe it’s her way of showing that she loves you and she miss you and she wants to make you feel as comfortable as possible even if she gets another effect on you and she bother you a Little bit, instead of focusing on the negative effect find the good intention and appreciate. Enjoy what you have in this moment, family, Friends, the company that you miss so much when you are away, now you are there, where you have been wanting to be for a while, enjoy it and be present, as I spoke in this post enjoy the present moment because those moments are not going to happen again in those conditions and circumstances so enjoy them as unique. Spend quality time with family and friends, disconnect from social networks and electronics, enjoy the scenery, the sun, the nice weather and activities you can only do at this time of the year.
And do not forget to look after yourself, spend some time for you, relax, go for a walk, do some exercise, read on the beach. Every day do an exercise of reflection, every morning think about the beautiful things you are experiencing this holidays, thanks and appreciate them and do not forget the small things.
And finally, I propose you something else, if your vacations look like every year, returning home with the same plans propose yourself to plan something different, like doing a day trip with your friends o family, going to a amusement park, do something you do not normally do.
